What's included in the Core health check?

Blood Pressure

This test uses an arm cuff attached to a sphygmomanometer to give your blood pressure result. Systolic and diastolic measurements are taken, helping identify high or low blood pressure.

Heart Rhythm (ECG test)

This test uses a 6-lead ECG test to check the rhythm of the heart. An accredited Cardiac Data Analyst will then review the trace (the image of the heartbeat over a period of time).

Kidney Function

This test measures the levels of sodium (salt) and waste products (urea and creatinine) in the blood. An eGFR result is also included to help identify reduced kidney function.

Advanced Diabetes

While a glucose test measures blood glucose levels at one moment in time, a HbA1c test gives a picture of the average amount of glucose in the blood over the last few months.

Heart Disease & Stroke Risk

This test, also called metabolic syndrome, combines test results from your health assessment (including cholesterol, BMI and blood pressure) with other common risk factors (like high blood pressure or having diabetes).

Lung Function Check for COPD

This test is an assessment of your respiratory health using spirometry. Lung function is often impaired due to respiratory conditions like asthma, bronchitis, emphysema, pulmonary fibrosis or COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease).

Immune System

This test assesses your white blood cell (WBC) count and platelet count. Platelets are cell fragments which help your blood to clot. A platelet count which is too high or low can indicate thrombocytosis or immune system deficiencies.

24/7 GP Helpline

24/7 GP helpline access for one year. From tummy upsets to travel inoculation advice, call any time of the day or night to discuss any health questions with a registered GP.

Body Composition Scan

Your body composition scan is performed by sending a safe electrical signal through your body. You’ll receive a breakdown of the percentages and weights of the various components including BMI, visceral fat, and more.

Liver Function

The liver function test looks at ALP (alkaline phosphatase), ALT (alanine aminotransferase), Gamma GT (Gamma-glutamyl transpeptidase), and Bilirubin levels in your blood to understand if you have a normal liver function.

Cholesterol Levels

This test measures Triglycerides, HDL, and LDL levels. LDL cholesterol, known as bad cholesterol, can lead to fatty build-ups in the arteries and increase the risk of heart attack, stroke and peripheral arterial disease (PAD).

Bone Health, Energy & Muscles

This test measures the levels of calcium, phosphate and uric acid in your blood. These elements are essential for muscle, nerve and energy function. Uric acid helps test for gout, a painful condition affecting the joints in your body.

Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD)

This ABPI test uses sensors attached to the arms and legs to detect any difference in blood pressure between the two. A difference can indicate PAD. Suitable for over 40s only.

Essential Proteins & Iron

This test measures a number of important proteins found in the blood that are required for healthy bodily function, and iron which is vital for red blood cell production. Low protein levels can sometimes be related to liver or kidney disease, while low iron levels can show iron deficiency.

Blood Health Markers

This test examines your blood health by checking your haemoglobin levels (including Mean Cell Haemoglobin or MCH) and red blood cell count (also known as an erythrocyte count). Abnormal haemoglobin levels can sometimes be a result of heart and lung diseases

Personal Results Report

Your results will be available 24/7 through ‘My Wellness’, our online dashboard and app. You will receive an email notification as soon as your results are available. Processing times vary by test, with some results accessible on the dashboard in as little as three days. Each one of your test results is explained in detail, and given a flag of red, amber or green - this allows you to easily see any areas for concern at a glance.

Upgrade your package

As well as all the checks included in the Core package, your Complete package includes a specialist Advanced PLAC test, plus a Private GP Consultation to discuss your full Results Report in detail at a time and date that suits you.
